Good Buy, Cruel World is a mystery written for use with Brindlewood Bay, a roleplaying game about a group of elderly women—members of the local Murder Mavens mystery book club—who frequently find themselves investigating (and solving!) real-life murder mysteries.

The Mavens have taken up mall-walking to stay fit, walking the perimeter of the Ambergris Galleria as their schedules allow, ending each circuit with a visit to Speaks Volumes—a bookstore—to browse the paperbacks.
But today's mall-walking is interrupted by the discovery of a body!
Can the Mavens figure out what happened to the owner of Big Laffs—an adult novelty, magic & joke shop—who was found dead in the Galleria's central fountain? Was it a suicide... or something more sinister?
